Pearwater Productions brings to Christ Church Cathedral the Hartford Premiere of My Gay Son’s Wedding, a wonderfully funny and critically acclaimed, romantic comedy written by Hartford native Jeffrey Kagan-McCann.
My Gay Son’s Wedding takes a humorous look at Eric Callahan, a young, ambitious, uptight, Jewish-Catholic, gay lawyer from New Haven, Connecticut, and his search for the meaning of love, happiness and acceptance. It’s written and directed by Hartford native Jeffrey Kagan-McCann, My Gay Son’s Wedding premiere at Northwest Actors Studio in Seattle, Washington. In 2013, Wedding had its Maine premiere at Portland’s Old Port Playhouse.
In Wedding, Eric finally decides to marry his partner, Jason, only to face how to break the news to his feuding, divorced parents. On their arrival for the planning of the Big Day, it seems like some things never change. Hilarity ensues when his father invites his much younger, new wife, a former exotic dancer. Later Eric’s Ex wants to come back to him after finding his girlfriend with someone else and their Wedding Consultant is a little off her game when her girlfriend breaks up with her.
