Donn Trenner, what a life this guy has had because he lived his life in music. Raised in Hamden and New Haven, Connecticut he went on to to work with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood. He was the musical director, for Bob Hope, Ann-Margret, Shirley MacLaine, Gina Lollobrigida, Rachel Welch and on and on and on. He directed the first band in late night television…he was Steve Allen’s musical director on his show. He put his first big band together when he was just 16. So many stories and he has put them all together in a book called “Leave It To Me…My Life In Music.”
Trenner who is now 88, lives in Guilford, Connecticut and directs the Hartford Jazz Orchestra at The Arch Street Tavern in Hartford every Monday night. He also continues to write and score music.
