We are so blessed in Connecticut with so many wonderful theaters, we are chocked full. New Haven’s Shubert Theater is celebrating its 100th year, Torrington’s, Warner Theatre goes back to the art deco age, there’s the famous “Goodspeed” in East Haddam, the only theater in the world named after Katharine Hepburn, “The Kate,” that’s in Old Saybrook, the list goes on and on and then there is the now 50-year-old Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford. It’s Executive Director, Preston Whiteway came on to talk about it’s rich history and where it’s headed in the future. So many famous actors have passed thru its doors including Oscar winners, Meryl Streep and Michael Douglas, they cut their acting teeth there learning all about acting. Coinciding with its 50th birthday is a brand new book called “The O’Neill.” You’ll find a ton of stories in it. Are arts lovers lucky in Connecticut or what?
